ABOUT SIMS

The Services Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS) commenced operations with its inaugural Batch of students in 2003. Initially, the institution was situated on Birdwood Road, sharing premises with the Postgraduate Medical Institute (PGMI) building. In the period of 2010-2011, the primary SIMS campus was officially opened adjacent to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology. The establishment of SIMS was spearheaded by Dr. Faisal Masood, who played a pivotal role in constructing a solid foundation for the medical college, leading to its subsequent growth and development. The current Vice Chancellor of King Edward Medical University,Dr Mahmood Ayaz, previously held the position of head of Surgical Unit 4 and later served as the Principal of SIMS. In 2024, Dr. Ahmad Rehan Khan, along with five other board members, established the Services Institute of Medical Sciences Alumni of North America. This organization was created with the aim of fortifying the network of SIMS alumni in the United States and providing guidance to SIMS students in securing medical residencies in the US.
